Shefali Jariwala REVEALS Why She Went Missing After The Success Of 'Kaanta Laga'; 'Because Of The Epilepsy Seizures, I Couldn't Take Up Much Work'
Shefali Jariwala, better known as 'Kaanta Laga' girl, revealed why she didn't take up any project after the massive success of the song
Shefali Jariwala is one of the most loved actresses in the industry. She became noted when she appeared in a famous music video 'Kaanta Laga'. Post the success of the song, Shefali didn't appear in too many projects. In a recent interview, Shefali revealed the reason behind not accepting offers post the success of Kaanta Laga.
Speaking to ETimes, Shefali said, "I had an epilepsy seizure at the age of 15. I remember at that time I was under tremendous pressure to do well in my studies. Stress and anxiety can lead to seizures. It's interrelated, you could get a seizure due to depression and vice versa. I have got seizures in classrooms, backstage, while on roads, and somewhere that lowered my self-esteem."
Speaking about why she didn't take up work after the Kaanta Laga music video, she said, "After I did Kaanta Laga, people asked me why I didn't do more work. I can now say that it was because of the epilepsy seizures that I couldn't take up much work. I didn't know when I would get my next seizure... this went on for 15 years." The actress further revealed that now she is nine years seizure free. She is proud of herself because she managed her depression, panic attacks and anxiety naturally and with the help of a strong support system.
Post Kaanta Laga, Shefali appeared in Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar starrer Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Later, she appeared in a dance reality show Nach Baliye 5. She was also seen in ALT Balaji's web series Baby Come Naa opposite Shreyas Talpade. In 2019, she participated in Bigg Boss 13 as a contestant.
